Scenario length – 12 hours
August 24, 1942. The United States invasion of Guadalcanal set the stage for a series of naval actions. While the Japanese initially badly underestimated the strength of the invasion, they soon decided that they needed to reinforce the island as a prelude to recapturing it. Thus, the Combined Fleet sortied in an attempt to strike Henderson Field and cover a major convoy to the island. The US Navy had the Enterprise and Saratoga ready to engage them in the third Carrier Battle of the War.
