Single Battle -The Battle of Tarutino, Everyone is Invited - (40 turns, Medium) - October 18, 1812 - By Mid-October the Russian army had recovered sufficiently from the huge losses at Borodino to contemplate going on the offensive. Bennignsen had proposed a plan to destroy Murat and his over extended forces watching the Russian camp at Tarutino. This plan should have succeeded, but was not pursued with sufficient energy. The battle did convince Napoleon to begin his withdrawal from Moscow. The lack of a total Russian success meant the end of Bennigsen's service with Kutusov. This scenario allows the possibility of the reinforcement from Frederoch's force located nearby. It further allows for increased Russian coordination of the attack, so you may expect all Russian forces to become involved in the battle, the question is just when will they?
