25 September 1799 - Variant - Intended to be played Head to Head - In this version of the first day of the Battle of Second Zurich there has been a large amount of unexpected snow in the Alps followed by warm weather which causes massive flooding. As a result of this all bridges on the map will suffer random bridge damage and may be rendered unpassable unless repaired by "Pioneer" type units. Due to the condition of the rivers the bridging operations have been delayed. Additionally, the French Reserve is late to arrive. The Russian cavalry reserve will arrive during the morning. All players should make a note of reinforcement locations and plan for possible bridge repair in order for their forces to reach the front! Reminder - units on a bridge can be destroyed if the bridge value is reduced to zero (0). Furthermore, if the value of a bridge falls to a level below that of the unit on the bridge then that unit may not leave the bridge hex which reflects the "jammed" status of the vehicles, horses and men as they struggle to clear the location. Repairing the bridge to the level will allow the unit to exit the bridge. Bridge levels are: 0-49: Impassable, 50-99: Only infantry and leaders may use the bridge, 100-149: add in cavalry to units to the types that can use the bridge: 150 and higher: all units may use the bridge. The scenario starts with supply wagons blocking the two pontoon bridges to reflect the chaos at the crossing site.
