Scenario Briefing: Boot Camp 1: Attacking the enemy: - The Anti-Imperialist Danish force is deployed in a good defensive position on rising ground with a stream in front, and is expecting reinforcements. The superior quality Imperialist Catholic League troops must cross the stream and assault this position promptly before it can be reinforced. However, the infantry units must decide whether to remain in slow-moving block formation as they advance - this will give them protection against cavalry, but they'll automatically disrupt when crossing the stream - or change into column formation to cross the stream and then attempt to go back into block before assaulting the objectives. The Imperialist cavalry can cross at the village and, having dealt with the Danish cavalry, should be able to outflank the Danish foot. The two light infantry units deployed in the marsh can either provide assistance to the cavalry or else deploy a skirmisher screen to cover the advance of the infantry blocks in the center.
Recommended Rules: Default
Note: Primarily intended for playing as the Imperialist side to experience a combined-arms assault on a potentially tough defensive position. However, it could also be usefully re-played as the anti-Imperialist Danes too, since the Danish force has different troop types not present on the Imperialist side and it's useful to practice fighting a defensive action while waiting for reinforcements.
