Scenario Briefing: Boot Camp 4: Swedish Tactics - The purpose of this hypothetical Boot Camp scenario is to demonstrate Swedish tactical innovations. While Swedish cavalry rely on the charge rather than caracole firepower, the infantry - supported by light battalion guns - rely on smaller, more mobile units and superior firepower to inflict heavy losses on the enemy. However, the Swedish infantry sometimes deployed in line as thinly as 3 deep and this made them much more vulnerable in melee. In this scenario, the Swedish battalion guns may be able to gall the Imperialist infantry into abandoning their defensive position and attacking across the stream.
Recommended Rules: Default
Note: For a first play-through, it would probably be better to play as the Anti-Imperialist side (i.e. the Swedes and Saxons). However, the scenario can also be usefully played as the Imperialist side to improve understanding of the various troop types fielded by that army and their strengths and weaknesses.
Further notes on this scenario can be found at the bottom of the Getting Started manual.
