Scenario Briefing: The Eve of Lutzen "What if" - Historically, Wallenstein, expecting reinforcements under Pappenheim, adopted a strong defensive position at Lutzen and relied upon a small 500 strong detachment supported by Croats under General Colloredo to delay the approaching Swedish army long enough to prevent the enemy from attacking at Lutzen until the following morning. This lengthy 66 turn scenario starts the previous afternoon to include Colloredo's delaying action and thus allow the Swedish king the chance of forcing a battle earlier than historically occurred. It also means that the Imperialist player may decide that Colloredo needs additional support and that fighting at a different location than Lutzen may be required.
Recommended Rules: Default
Note: Due to the size of the map and length of the scenario, this is best played Head-to-Head rather than against the A/I. However, if playing against the A/I, then it would be better for the human player to take the Swedish (Anti-Imperialist) side.
