Scenario Briefing: Alternate - After an Austrian offensive pushed Gages' Spanish army southwards towards the Neapolitan frontier, the two armies spent the summer of 1744 facing each other near the town of Velletri. Both sides sought to control the high ground between the town and the Austrian camp, as the first step towards attacking the other. On the night of 16/17 June, a picked Spanish force moved against the Austrian outposts and successfully drove them from their positions. However, it did not prove possible to advance any further, and the stalemate continued for a further two months.
In this alternative scenario, the action is extended into the afternoon of 17 June to allow the Spanish to attempt to completely drive off the Austrian forces or for the Austrians to mount a counterattack in strength.

Intended to be played as the Anti-Pragmatic forces (Naples) against the Pragmatic Alliance AI, but can be played from either side or Head-to-Head.
