Scenario Briefing: Variant - Following the French victories on the Continent, Charles Stuart sailed for Scotland, hoping to take advantage of the situation to regain the throne lost in the Glorious Revolution.
Sir John Cope was the British commander in Scotland, but his force was extremely green. Charles was able to capture Edinburgh, and then advanced to meet Cope's force coming from Dunbar.
The respective armies spent the 20th staring at one another, with neither one prepared to start the battle. This scenario assumes that they did indeed fight that day.
