Date: 17 January 1746 - Size: Medium - Location: Southwest of Falkirk, Scotland

Scenario Briefing: Variant - In late 1745, the Jacobite Army was besieging Stirling Castle, and a relief army under Henry Hawley moved into Scotland by mid January. The Jacobites decided to attack on the 17th, but extreme confusion and delay prevented the attack from kicking off until late in the day, by which point the weather had turned to snow, sleet and rain.

In an extremely confused battle, the Jacobites were able to drive off the British, but proved unable to gain any major strategic advantage from the battle.

This variant scenario begins after the rout of the Government dragoons by the Clan Macdonald regiments on the Jacobite right wing, disordering the Earl of Home's brigade of volunteers and obstructing the advance of Hawley's regular infantry.

Note: The Field hex type here represents the wet moorland, and thus reduces movement more than usual. Also, muskets have reduced firepower due to the wretched conditions.
