Crossing the Bidassoa 7 October 1813 - Having discovered low-tide fords across the Bidassoa estuary between Fuenterrabia and Hendaye, Wellington sent the 5th Division across the weakly defended Hendaye in a surprise dawn attack. Meanwhile, the 1st Division, supported by Wilson's Portuguese, two batteries and two squadrons of Light Dragoons, took up position below the San Marcial Heights ready to attack across the Behobie fords. Two divisions of Freire's Galicians would attack further upstream. NB: To represent the surprise attack and due to the fact that the low-tide fords would only be crossable for a short time, the scenario starts with the 5th Division already across at Hendaye.
