Tarragona: Murray orders an assault "what if" - Although the outer fortifications hadn't been adequately repaired after the 1811 siege, the over-cautious British general Murray ordered a preliminary bombardment rather than a direct assault. Then, despite having destroyed Fort Royal on 7 June, Murray still failed to order an attack and switched attention to Fort Olivo instead! Finally, on reports that Suchet was making preparations to lift the siege, Murray panicked and abandoned guns and supplies in his precipitous retreat. However, this scenario assumes that Murray did launch an assault and the scenario length provides plenty of time for an attack on the upper city as well.
