September 19/20, 1939: A few minutes before midnight, the homebound U-27 spotted a line of overlapping ships. Mistakenly believing the ships to be cruisers, OLtzS Franz moved to attack, hoping to match the score of Weddigen in the First World War (see the Jutland game of this series for this scenario). Unfortunately for Franz and his crew, the ships turned out to be destroyers, who turned on him and forced him under. Damaged by the depth charges, U-27 surfaced and hoped to make good their escape. They would not be so lucky. Eighteen men survived. **This scenario is only playable HTH or as the German vs Allied AI.**
