17 August, 1914
Shabatz, 40 miles west of Belgrade on the River Save. (Best played

as Serbian human player versus an Austrian AI). This is the

second of the series of scenarios recreating the battles around

Shabatz during the first Austrian invasion of Serbia in August

1914. Following the Austrian capture of Shabatz on 12 August,

the invaders contented themselves with digging in and despoiling

their prize. Within a few days the Serbian armies were counterattacking

along the whole length of the front, and had brought the Austrian

invasion to a grinding halt. On 17 August the extreme right of

the Serbian forces closed in on Shabatz.

v1.0 of the stock versions. Fight-wise, a decent scenario, with pretty even losses. Objective points are too low, though, to give the Serbs a chance at a draw. Too much effort on their part to finally take an objective and be rewarded with a measly 20 points. Increasing the objectives to 50 points would go a long way to balance this one.
Resolve then, that on this very ground, with small flags waving and tinny blasts on tiny trumpets, we shall meet the enemy, and not only may he be ours, he may be us. --Walt Kelly
