I'll go with one install....I checked out DG proper...how much more useless could it be? (except as basis for good modding)It's practically all designed to play as Isreali vs the AI...remebering why I dropped out of TS' playtester pool now.

Some of it looks obvious by title, but what are the files necesary to run just DGVN?

You can't run them separately unless you just take out all the DG scn's. An easy way to do is is install dg then Delete all the .scn files. Then do the mod. Then install all the DGVN scn's (almost 100) then all that will come up are the DGVN scn's.
