page 62 has three paragraphs about the operation. It occurred on the night of 2/3 January 1942 two coordinated air drops were executed on drop zones about 7.5 miles apart. Only 31 aircraft were available to support the operation.
Units 1st Bn 201st Abn Bde dropped in the vicinity of Gusevo.
Western Airborne detachment and elements of the 250th Independent Rifle Regt (abn) dropped in the vicinity of Bolshoye and Fatyanovo.

Thanks so much Bill. This news makes sense in light of the Red Army counter-offensive 1941-42. However, the M 41 Max German Effort scenario lists 3 possible airdrops on November 20th, well behind German lines, in effect suicide missions; one listed as "Historical" @ Medyn. All I can conclude is that this is all fantasy??? jonny Helmet Rolleyes
