Medium tanks take-on heavy tank at distance
Medium tanks should not do well against heavy tanks at distance [>500m] unless they outnumber the heavy tank and then they might by able to survive the encounter.

These two T-34/85 take on the tiger [by accident] and get a couple of ricochets for their efforts. The tiger shoots a couple of times and misses. When a third T-34/85 arrives and also starts to take on the tiger it decides that discretion is the better part of valour and to retreat

Later on the tiger is distracted by some PTRD fire and then the T-34/85 takes the opportunity to strike and one of the shots immobilises the tiger. Once that happens the tiger is quickly abandoned...
