I had decided to take the southern road & had cleared it out reasonably well, but I decided to wait a turn to try and cross the bridge from north to south so my Tigers could whittle down the oncoming Russian tanks from the north. Two of my Tigers got killed before they even fired a shot and that really put me in a bind. Then the Russians showed up on the road in the southeast corner and it was go time for the Russians.

But still a very entertaining scenario.

I try to do a "collapsing sack" strategy by placing tanks and guns on high ground and infantry to secure the route of march against the partisans and then escort the convoys off the map and then withdraw the remaining fighters - tough to do especially if you've never played it before and don't realize the russians appear all over the place. But I'm willing to try it again when someone challenges me as either allied or axis.
