New EF Scenario: A Deadly Meet
Hi Gents:

I've tried my hand at CS scenario design! :smoke:

Just submitted / uploaded the scenario files to H2H Productions.

** A Deadly Meet
Mike West
10 July, 1943
[48km NE of Orel]: [H2H] [FIC] [GD]: A German reconnaissance battalion (reinforced); attached to the Ninth Army, is given the task to overcome the "reported" Russian small covering groups located on the left flank, in support of Operation Citadel (Battle of Kursk). However; instead of meeting light resistance, German Kampfgruppe "Steudtner" runs head long into a similar Russian force; attached to the 3rd Tank Army, probing west. To add insult to injury, the Russians have pressed into service captured German equipment. Soon the Germans will be on the "receiving end" of their own tank cannons! A most deadly meet!

This is a small (Size Mod = 2) East Front Meeting Engagement scenario.

Mwest:

Welcome to the club.
Scenario creation is it's own reward, but having it validated via H2H is even better, since you get great feedback and improve your product.

As for how long it takes, how much testing, and prospective opponents it's up to you to drum up beta testers. For a game like yours, relatively small size, I think you'll be able to get testers with little problem.

I'm up to my ears at present...or I'd volunteer to help you out.
I am downloading it and after I take a good look I'll pm you to compare notes.

Again...welcome...

Dan

RE: New Scenario Designer!
Gents:

We have four (4) test games underway! Big Grin

Preliminary game "snippets" from test players are that German / Russian point totals remain relatively "even" when a "conservative" stance is adopted by each player. No significant "unbalanced" elements identified.

Other items: I've cleaned up the map labels for the scenario.

Looking forward to the end game test reports! :smoke:

Gents:

Update on the playtesting: Big Grin

* Test reports starting to trickle in.
* Victory conditions will need to be adjusted. Decisive Victory not possible.

Hope to get current round of testing complete in about a week and then make appropriate scenario revisions.

Many thanks to all the playtesters!

Gents:

We have five (5) test games underway! Big Grin

Hopefully will wrap up the current round of testing this week?

Also, any CS players who wish to download and take a "look" at "A Deadly Meet" - please do! Would be interested in your initial impressions - OOBs, terrain, etc.

Thanks! :smoke:

Gents:

Update on the play testing: Big Grin

* Objective Hex (11,15) point value will be adjusted from 25 to 50 points
* Major Victory value will be reduced from 300 to 200 points. All other victory point values will remain the same.
* Game length will be reduced from 15 to 12 turns.
* Some playtesters have asked for reinforcements. That proposal is under consideration.

Many thanks to all the playtesters!
