Valor & Victory - Counters

Valor & Victory - Counters
I have always upgraded or modified my board games since I was a kid.

I sent weeks researching & adding modern (70's and 80's) weapons, aircraft
& ships to the old AH Dauntless board game!

Now my twin boys & my self have been doing up additional armor counters
for V&V. I have done early German & Russian armor and they are adding
missing US armor.

How do you like the the Valor and Victory system? I downloaded the rules and the vassal module...but have not looked at them yet. I am always interested in squad based tactical systems...

I really like it. It's kind of a Squad Leader Lite. Easy to learn and I
enjoy playing and not having to keep reading or looking up rules.
We have played 15 games so far. We have added a few "house rules"
to our games. Nothing major. Stuff like if a unit fires from a 1/2 track,
then you can fire back at them with a +3 cover factor.

When you create or upgrade your counters, is it normally easy to find the images that you need and that are also shown from the correct POV (angle)?

I'm always on the hunt for top downs. Vietnam stuff mostly.
A couple of regular sites I go to.

Maybe we could have a resource sticky thread or something. Anyone else know of any top down or sides, please post.

I haven't had an issues finding any yet.
Google
http://ww2drawings.jexiste.fr/Files/1-Ve...hicles.htm
and keif149's link:
http://rpgmapshare.com/index.php?q=galle...&g2_page=5

My hardest problem is not going overboard.
Example:
Stug III's. I did an early one with the short 75mm & a late with the long
75mm guns. There are more in between these, but it's a game in the end
and I want to enjoy it.

Were it all started was when the boys wanted to do any early battle with
the French & the Germans. The scenario with V&V had a long barrel Stug
& Pz IV and long barrel Mark III's. Well this is just wrong! We tried using a
stick on the side to indicate the reduced firepower & armor, but this got
confusing quick. So Dad (me) started fixing them & added a Pak 35/36 37mm AT gun vs the 75mm at V&V had.
Then keif149 posts the link to those very nice images and off I go building all missing tanks and redoing the factory V&V counters to match my add one Crazy

But my master plan is to use Stalin's Tanks with my counters someday.
Stalin's Tanks is where Barry (V&V designer) got his armor rules idea
from.

I keep looking at this one too: TEEHEE

The links seem to be broken, where can I find more material for this game. As a Teen I owned all the Avalon Hill games in the Squad leader set . I miss it terribly. Microsoft's Close Combat is a good substitute. I have just finished programming the gcode for my laser cutter to cut out the counters for this game and its hungry to cut out more.
